As Fluid now celebrates 20 years in the translation industry, we look back on the partnerships that have shaped us along the way. One of them is the long-standing partnership Fluid has with NIBE, who have worked with Fluid to translate their financial reports into English and German for over a decade – always maintaining a focus on quality, security and reliability.

NIBE is a global group that develops and manufactures energy-efficient and sustainable climate solutions for all types of properties. It all began in Markaryd, Småland, 70 years ago, in a region well known for its entrepreneurial spirit. For a company like NIBE, which operates in an international market, linguistic precision and personal service are crucial. When annual reports, quarterly reports and financial communications need to be shared with shareholders and investors in multiple languages, you require a partner that knows your company, understands the industry and can handle complex financial terminology with precision. That was why NIBE turned to Fluid just over twelve years ago, and the collaboration has continued ever since. “We sought a partner who could deliver consistent high quality under time pressure. Fluid has not only met our expectations, but has often exceeded them”, says Birgitta Gustafsson, who is responsible for group-wide communication at NIBE.
A collaboration built on trust
Over the years, the collaboration has evolved in line with NIBE’s requirements. Today, assignments encompass everything from annual reports and interim reports to press releases and investor information. For Fluid, these types of long-term relationships are the very core of our business. “When we have the opportunity to follow a client over many years, we learn their tone, terminology and style in depth,” says Larissa Ekonoja, CEO at Fluid. This means we can deliver translations that feel seamless and natural.

From technology to teamwork
Financial translation involves more than the correct use of language. It requires technical understanding, meticulous project management and a well-oiled process to maintain both quality and meet deadlines. Over the years, Fluid has built up a dedicated team specifically for financial clients, where specialised translators, language reviewers, terminologists and project managers work closely together. “We value the project managers at Fluid as they understand our processes and our deadlines. This creates invaluable peace of mind when the pace is intense,” says Birgitta Gustafsson. Fluid’s approach combines human expertise with modern language technology. Through translation memories and terminology management, both consistency and efficiency are ensured, something that clients notice in the results. “When everything runs smoothly in the background, our clients can focus on their own content, and that’s exactly how it should be,” says Heléne Carlstedt, senior project manager at Fluid.
Moving forward – with the same focus on quality
Our close collaboration continues now with the translation of NIBE’s annual report and accompanying sustainability report. NIBE reported according to the new ESRS standards for the first time last year, which represented a major shift in NIBE’s approach to financial reporting and also impacted the associated translation work. This year, therefore, the focus is on streamlining this work and refining the report. “We see Fluid as a long-term partner. Their expertise and flexibility mean that we can feel secure, regardless of how our needs evolve,” says Birgitta.
